About Restaurant Le Bateau
Daarvoor duiken we diep in de historie. ‘s-Hertogenbosch beschikte eeuwenlang over een drukke binnenhaven, gesitueerd aan de huidige Vismarkt en de Visstraat, niet ver van ons restaurant. De handelsgeest van de Bosschenaar voerde hem overal naartoe. Zo beschikten Bossche handelslieden in de 16e eeuw over een eigen nederzetting op het Deense eiland Schonen. Gelegen in één van de oudste straatjes van onze hertogstad herinneren wij onze gasten graag aan de zeevaardertraditie van onze voorouders. En nog steeds kun je boten voorbij zien komen… Op de Binnendieze, vlakbij ons restaurant!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good food and above average service. Make sure to ask what items they have that are not on the menu. For example the menu did not contain Oysters but we were really in the mood for Oysters so we asked if they had any and sure enough, they did.

Service was satisfactory but not a fountain... I tried steaks in many places and unfortunately must admit that the one I got in this place was one of the worst.
If you are planning to spend 30€ for your dinner. I would rather recommend to consider other available options as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food is very good but the waiter is very rude with an aggressive attitude i asked for tap water and she took one of my friend’s glass she filled it with water and brought it back to me i noticed that so i asked her to change it with a bottle of water she brought a bottle of water with out a glass i asked for a glass she brought a glass that hasn’t been dried
She was very rude and she informed the restaurant manager about this issue and he even didn’t try to apologize or rectify. The situation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well, there was a large group upstairs, nobody wants to sit there. After desert we were given the option to sit downstairs....The peanut soup was diluted saté sauce with bean sprouts ... One oyster as a dish....well, so that is why 3 stars

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The name might e misleading if you expect a French restaurant however if you want god restaurant this is a good option. Appetizers with bread and ham as good as well as the small pizzas... but the real deliciousness is the meat. The triple lamb was superlative. Soft and well cooked. Dessert was on average. Good selection of beers. Recomme ded. Also price was good value for money.

We were walking around looking for this one restaurant on the corner that was highly rated but they don't take reservations and we couldn't sit down so we decided to keep walking. Well little did we know but just around the corner was the most amazing nautical bar. We went in for a drink and ended up staying for dinner. The best oysters I've ever tasted, freshly picked by the chef himself that morning, tasting like the sea herself. Each course was unique and satisfied all the senses. The most important being taste. Surrounded by nautical memorabilia and artifacts collected over the last 25 years since opening day, it placated to the youth in me who was curious about pirates, the ocean, and the unknown. I will definitely return to dine with captain Yves.
