Restaurant MOZO - Van Woustraat 89
In 2012 raakten wij, twee jonge gozers uit Amsterdam, ontzettend geïnspireerd in Californië door de vele hippe en toegankelijke Marokkaanse restaurants. “Dit missen wij in Amsterdam!” riepen we. Zo geroepen, zo gedaan! In 2013 werd MOZO geboren waarbij wij alles combineerden waar we van houden uit het land waar onze ouders vandaan komen....Het Magische Koninkrijk Marokko.
Met een heleboel recepten van onze grootmoeders, volgeladen met verse kruiden en specerijen uit Marokko en een lading kleurrijke tajines begonnen wij aan dit avontuur.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service was on the low end of average, pushing to finish our starter, and then we had to wait over 15 minutes for the main course to be served. They didn't change the cutlery between services either, which at this price point I was surprised. At the end, it pretends to be a restaurant at price, but it falls short on food and service. The only thing restaurant like is the price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tiny restaurant in de pijp, cozy and with very welcoming service. No alcohol in the menu, but the food is enough for a great experience.
We had two starters, a cold one (marinated hearts of artichokes) and a warm one potato based.
Then the main dishes: a bastilla (deliciously pie with meat and vegetable with cinnamon and sugar on top), then a tajine, juicy and tender.
Big portions, we didn't make to the dessert (next time, promised), and a final bill of 30€ each. Perfect experience! Thanks Mozo, see u soon

Tiny and cosy place.
I was there with a friend for dinner during the week.
First impression was not really pleasant. We didn’t get a good vibe from the people there. The were nice big tables available and was not offered to us saying that it was reserved while it was not. I know it, since we left the restaurant at the closing time and no one used those tables!
Food was good but way lower than my expectations from a high rank Restaurant. I have had much better experiences with Moroccan Restaurants.
I didn’t like the lightning, and they didn’t even bother to light the candle on our table.
Not a lot of help from our servants.
In that tiny restaurant it was not easy to grab the attention of the servants to ask for something and over all we did not feel very welcome.
I won’t go back there and do not recommend this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I got the shrimp warm appetizer and mint tea. Absolutely sooo delicious and all of the staff were so kind and gracious, (Samir especially and Nejlae and Hynb, also absolutely so caring)
The music and vibe of this place is full of energy ?? Would recommend to everyone 10/10 I’m from Baltimore (next to Washington D.C.) and it was my first time trying Moroccan food ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice interiors. Platter was good. Taginne and couscous was not upto the mark.
Initially we were informed that we can sit on the table as there was no reservation but later on we were given a seat. So don't go without a reservation or else you may be embarassed.
Interestingly, nobody came to that table till the end and the table was empty till we left.
Worst part is that they don't serve the typical Moroccan bread so that's another issue which other customers also highlighted.
