★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A small fronted gem in the old town. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Speak Dutch and English with a few speaking other European languages. The food is flavoursome and cooked to order. Well worth a visit in my book.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tapas & Co is a cute little restaurant hidden away in the Jordaan of Alkmaar, het Fnidsen. Price quality wise it is a great restaurant. Their terrace, only accessible in Spring and Summer is hidden a bit between two old dutch houses (of which one is a flowershop) and at one of the iconic canals and close to the house with the cannonball. One of the most beautiful spots in Alkmaar in my opinion. There is a great variety of Tapas to choose from and they are all of good quality. Holding it back from five stars is the long time we had to wait for each round of tapas. Up to half an hour on average. Which seemed a bit out of proportion considering the size of the dishes and the amount of guests. Maybe they were short on staff. Furthermore I can highly recommend Tapas & Co. All you can eat for a fair price in one of the most beautiful places in Alkmaar.
