★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food was not good. I ordered the Vongole pasta with small pellet like clams and no flavour of either the clams or bottarga. Tasted bland like cooked pasta tossed with olive oil. My wife had the Sardinian potato ravioli with Guanciale which was also very bland and stodgy. The bread which we had was cold and chewy (not in a good way). The whipped butter was very good though.
The restaurant is busy and has a bustling vibe with friendly staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hands down the best pizza in the 071 region. Over the years I have repeatedly visited Karalis with groups of people varying from 2 to 20 and the service has always been great. The restaurant is always filled with other people, depending on the time of day/night it can be very crowded so you might wanna make a reservation!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Karalis is (one of) the best Italian restaurants in Leiden. It's both great if you just want 'standard' Italian food (at great quality), but the menu also has options for those who want to explore beyond pizza Margherita or lasagna. It's a place where you can take family, friends, or professional contacts. The international staff speaks a variety of languages and are very friendly.
There is plenty of seating, but it can get crowded on Thursdays and in the weekends, so it can't hurt to make a reservation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant is a big place with a nice terrace. Service was really slow and our starter was delivered at the wrong table with one of the meals not what we ordered. This was a recurring thing because at least two waitresses before that, asked us if we ordered what ever she was holding.
The waitress compensated her fault by giving the starter that we ordered, later and for free. Staff is friendly, food is really good. Maybe some numbers on the tables would help with giving out food to the right tables. I would visit again.

Kind and welcoming service.
