The portion size will slightly depend on the generosity of the particular server, and I'm glad to say that I haven't seen the grumpy, confused server that consistently gave smaller portions for quite some time, as she was the only reason for less than 5 stars to an otherwise very good place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ VERY mediocre place that left me regretting my decision to go there. Between the ambivalence of the person behind the counter to the microwave ovens she used to heat up our meals, I should have just walked away. The roti is not a buttery delicious paratha style roti. It is a dry, microwaved, bread that was functional and not delicious. The portions are huge for what you pay and I couldn't even finish my plate but the leftovers were not worth taking.

Okay. It's not fine dining. Food is pre-cooked. Chilled and re-heated in a microwave. It's not a secret and they don't hide it. It is also not uncommon for the Nederlands and this style of eatery.
However. Before you judge. Try it!
I used the social deal (Groupon-a-like) and have had a plethora of poor experiences with that recently in the area.
This place blew me away with quantity, choice, veriarty, and flavours. ?
The lamb 'curry' was particularly memorable and sufficiently spicy for most I suspect but the deal came with a boiled egg, chicken, potato/aloogobi, beans, and some other combo's. More than enough and then the generous roti as well.
Flavour combinations were incredible alone and combined.
If this were not enough, a small dish of sambal (Dutch for chilli sauce) is also provided and unusually for Nederlands, yellow and not red.
Equally unusual for the Nederlands, the Sambal has some serious chilli power to it. Not for the faint hearted and I've only experienced these flavour combinations in the Seychelles previously.
Suffice to say I bought a jar at €7 to take home after. Money well spent in my opinion.
I also bought more Social deal vouchers to use again as it is an instant must go destination for my Leiden visits.
Highly recommend but take it for what it is. Enjoy the food and the flavours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Found this place while on holiday in Leiden. From the outside you would be skeptical about the food if you are not use to this type of food. However once you taste the food, you are happy you decided to go with this restaurant. You can clearly taste the 'Home made' feature of this restaurant, in every bite. The 'loose roti' is delicious, a must have. Bathroom located upstairs, didn't visited it but the fact that they have one is a plus in my books. 4 out of 5 stars for the simple fact of the smallness of the location, which made it feel 'dusty' more than it actually is. And also a bit of wait to receive your order but it's worth it.
