Sas Design Jewellery is a brand conceived and developed by designer Saskia Schellen. As a child, Saskia was already fascinated by other cultures, she studied anthropology and went travelling.

Saskia is inspired by the lively romance and enormous luxury of the 17th century from ‘Amsterdam’ and influences from the east. Indian, Etruscan and contemporary styles are combined with the paintings of Rembrandt and more from the Rijksmuseum collection.

Sterling silver (925/1000) and 18k gold plated sterling silver with a mix of semi-precious stones form the basis for these jewelry collections. Every component of the jewelry is produced in an ethically responsible and traceable manner.

Sas Design Jewelry undertakes in a responsible manner, all jewelry is handmade in our workshop in Jaipur Rajasthan India by a team of dedicated goldsmiths from the Thar desert. Jaipur is an Indian city known for its long history of skilled craftsmanship and jewelry design. This also enables us to offer fair prices together with ethical purchasing and sustainable production, which is important to us.

The style is versatile and is described by Saskia as: ‘antique chic sustainable vintage look’.

– All jewelry is handmade.
– Every component of the jewelry is ethically responsible and traceable.
– The metal used is: sterling silver and 18k gold-plated sterling silver.
– Silver and messing are used in the rings; combination of silver and messing which gilded 18k gold. The setting is therefore solid and remains golden.
– The pearls used are “Natural / Fresh or Freshwater”, these pearls are very strong.

The jewellery is made by hand by a small team of Indian goldsmiths from the Thar desert, so each piece of jewellery has its own character.
