★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic hotel with large rooms and a lovely staff. Don't be put out by it being a training hotel, the staff is always smiling, the service is great and the rooms are clean. We had a wonderful time here. The number 13 tram stops right infront of the hotel and it is about 20 minutes to the city centre, or you can transfer to another tram for the museums etc. Overall a cost effective way to stay in Amsterdam. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great stay. Within 15 minutes by Tram to Dam Square. Trams are clean and easy to navigate.
The staff at Skotel were probably the most friendly and helpful all the places we have stayed, and we have traveled alot. One of the first year students, Floor Steven's was particularly helpful. She helped with Tram passes and booking our entry to the Van Gogh Museum The room was clean and very roomy by European standards. Each day the cleaning staff left us notes wishing us a good day. Each is decorated like a well known hotel chain. We only had breakfast here in that the restaurant was closed for the weekend we were here. Due to semester ending, a new crop of students were not coming until Monday. The breakfast was both continental and American more than enough to eat. The brioches were excellent. Our waiters remembered us from day to day and by the second day, already knew our preferences. The only drawbacks were 1) our room did not have a safe although another couple in our party did have one and 2) there is no bar. With respect to a bar, a Ramada is directly behind the school and we went there for drinks. We plan to return to Amsterdam and will stay here. |

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 5 star service by the students served as receptionists, restaurant crew & house keeping. You guys are doing very well !! The hotel rooms are decorated by various hotel chains, which gives every room their own style, 1 room designed like novotel, the other rooms designed exactly like radisson, sofitel or else.
