★ ★ ★ ★ ★ She is seriously the best! Wished I had discovered her store sooner, would definitely have bought my bike from her instead.
Stumbled across her shop by accident a few months back when I first came to Amsterdam. Had a flat tire and was quite a long way from home. She very kindly lent me her pump and gave me a valve when mine didn't fit.
I always remembered that so when my bike wheel started having problems, I brought it over to her shop to get it fixed. She did a great job with it and saved me quite a bit of money by repairing my spokes instead of replacing my wheel, since I only needed my bike for a month or two more. Very thankful and definitely recommend her :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've come to Netherlands for registering my son to school and as he was in the orientation programme during first days, I've tried to hunt for a bike for him which is must have in Netherlands. I've tried every possible way, facebook groups, expat groups, cruised around 12-15 second hand bicycle shops. I was lucky enough to see Google suggestion for Solid. Owner is Brenda, excellent and very honest person, very helpful and straightforward for all the questions that I had. I've bought an excellent condition city bike with best price I've ever had and 30€ chain lock came almost for free (thanks to Brenda).
Don't go somewhere else, go directly to Brenda. Absolutely, highly recommended..

The owner is a really really really professional and lovely lady, she helped me quickly pick up a bike that fits me perfect. She helped me adjusted and renewed the seat, gave me a reasonable price with lock, explained everything carefully, I really appreciate all her help and patience!
Highly recommended, especially for expats, if you're also looking for nice bikes!

A quirky, generally friendly local business with an emphasis on good and cheap service.
Brenda is amazing - Paul is new and pretty cool too. The service is really good especially considering that this is Amsterdam where good service is generally rare. Solid focusses on doing repairs as cheaply as possible for the customer, sometimes that is not the best way to go with a bike,
especially if something just needs to be replaced and it will be expensive. My partner asked for a new cable and needed some other specialist work doing. he asked/told them specifically what was needed and they did a 'make do and mend' which as he cycles to work every day was pointless. He ended up doing it himself and refuses to go back. I don't want to do my bike myself and whatever they do is better than I could do, so I am very happy and will continue to use them.
They go out of their way, spending a lot of time and energy for which they often say 'just put a euro or so in the piggy bank'!
I love it, have only had the best service sometimes you have to wait a bit while Brenda is chatting. Sometimes it is so busy she can barely lift her head to speak.
There is a new lady helping in the shop who is very precise and also very protective of Brenda - which is quite nice, if sometimes a wee bit irritating.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m not get used to leave the reviews without asking for that but the service and quality of the work that I got from Brenda couldn’t allow me to remain indifferent. The best service in the Netherlands so far for me. Affordable price. I requested for the bicycle repair (the difficult part with the gears) and I got it ready in 2 hours just and for the price 3x cheaper than was requested in another bike repair spot ! Brenda is a very honest nice positive and kind person. I have already recommended this place to all my friends and will be always coming to Brenda with any of my bike issues. Thanks a lot!
