1. Gibson Electrics by A.R. Duchossoir
I highly recommend this book to all guitar enthousiasts. It is full of details and specifications from the very beginning of Gibson up to 1961. It’s the holy grail when it comes to Gibson Electrics from the golden era.
2. Gibson’s Fabulous Flat-Top guitars by David Vinopal, Eldon Whitford and Dan Erlewine
Learn all about the innovative designs, quality craftsmanship and superior sound! This book has more than 200 photos and detailed text about the development and evolution of Gibson’s fabulous flat-tops. Everything you want to know about the rich Gibson flat-top history!
3. Gibson Electric Steel Guitars by A.R. Duchossoir
A good friend of mine told me about this book. This book recounts the “short” history of the Gibson Electric Steel guitars produced between 1935 and 1967. A must for every Gibson enthousiast and for anyone interested in the looks or sounds of electric steels!
4. Gibson Guitars: Ted McCarty’s Golden Era 1948-1966 by Gil Hembree
This is Ted McCarthy’s first and only complete biography. As you all know TED McCarty was CEO of Gibson during 1948 and 1966. The greatest period of guitar manufacturing. He is responsible for the production of over 1 million instruments and amplifiers. This book offers a glimpse into the golden era of the Gibson factory.
5. Kalamazoo Gals by John Thomas
The so-called Banner Era Gibsons made in Kalamazoo around WWII are among the greatest flat-top acoustic guitars ever made. Learn all about the famed wartime guitars and the women who built them.

A beautiful and good quality 12-string guitar bought at a very good price. The handling and settlement of the transaction was excellent! Also the "advance" contacts with Erwin made me feel like I was dealing with an honest and sincere salesperson.

Als je voor het eerst op een website komt waarbij je namen tegenkomt als: Fender, Gibson, PRS, Guild of Martin, begin je spontaan te huiveren en wilt je kredietkaart zo snel mogelijk gaan lopen. Bij The Guitar Company bieden ze juist voor een fantastische prijs hun, van jong tot zeer oude, gitaren aan. Ze beschikken over een eigen luthier die de gitaren afstelt. Erwin stond voor mij klaar om elke vraag te beantwoorden, en geloof mij dit waren er niet weinig. Ik ben zelf student en heb lang moeten nadenken, maar ik geloof dat ik een goede koop gedaan heb en ben uiterst tevreden met mijn Gibson!
DUS: Aan allen die op zoek zijn naar een instrument van topkwaliteit en die wel te vinden zijn voor de charme en uitstraling van een oudere gitaar, zoek dan niet verder. Stuur The Guitar Company gerust een mailtje en vraag hen wat je zoekt, misschien komt heel binnenkort jou droomgitaar wel in je woonkamer te staan!
Quality guitars for an affordable and fair price, that is the life moto in which Erwin lives. When you first come to a website where you come across names like: Fender, Gibson, PRS, Guild or Martin, you spontaneously start to shudder and want to get your credit card running as quickly as possible. At The Guitar Company they offer their guitars, from young to very old, for a fantastic price. They have their own luthier that adjusts the guitars. Erwin was on hand to answer any question, and believe me there were not a few. I am a student myself and have had to think for a long time, but I believe I have made a good buy and I am extremely satisfied with my Gibson!
