★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You're definitely in for a treat when entering this place for a beer as a tourist. Old school-dirty (greasy beer glasses, toilet, floor), rude service, but that's probably seen as a something positive by the owner. That CAN be a good thing if you're into that sort of pain. Each to his/hers own.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ De Postillon is one of those places that has resisted the process of pubs becoming cleaner, brighter, and focused on selling food at premium prices. Instead, it's a proper old-fashioned pub where you go to have a drink and talk to people. Also nice to see some pubs are still independent rather than owned by and beholden to one of the major brewers. I love the atmosphere of this place, and whilst it's remained a bit oldfashioned in some respects, the selection of beer's diverse to modern standards.
Give it a try and see if it's for you, maybe I'll see you there!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Warm, woody welcoming ambiance. Pirched on a bridge it has a view of the water and at the same time great for people watching. Best seat? At the bar talking to the locals and talking too much to the bartender. Thank you for playing all our favourite music and singing for us, we had a blast of an evening!
