About Tuin van Zuid
Geachte gast,
Na 14 jaar onze zaak te hebben gehad aan de Sluisstraat 66 beter bekend als Restaurant Mr. Mix, waren wij toe aan een nieuwe uitdaging en die hebben wij na vele bezichtigingen gevonden.
Het gaat om een hoekpand aan de Amstelveenseweg met prachtige grote ramen die uitzicht bieden op ons terras.
Wij gaan verder onder de naam Tuin van Zuid.
Wij hebben een mooie menukaart gemaakt van onze favoriete gerechten en gaan open voor diner, uiteraard kunt u daarnaast ook heerlijke borrelhapjes bestellen.
Wij hopen u snel te mogen verwelkomen in ons restaurant Tuin van Zuid!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Owner is very polite and warm, employees also friendly and polite. Some of them are Turkish, so if you speak Turkish, you can speak Turkish when you order. They have a nice terrace toward to street.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place overall has potential, there are things that can be changed to make it better than it already is. The food is average and the exposure to the kitchen does feel strange, but the staff are friendly. Unfortunately, the place has no atmosphere, it doesn't have that zuid quality feel. It seems to be something that belongs more in central were more tourists are. The place does have a nice terras and when the sun comes out would be a nice place to sit and have a drink. It's really a no frills, easy going restaurant.

Very happy to have all you can eat ribs TWICE a week and in da hood.
The prices are very reasonable the food looks good - the grilled vegetables side dish looked fabulous, green pepper (unfortunately don't like it), mushroom, courgette all under cooked (but I like 'm like that) the chips (fries/patat) were the perfect portion, beautifully cooked. The ribs were soft and succulent. I found the sauce was under par (I had hot my companion had sweet) but they basically taste like tomato ketchup with chilli or with sugar. Way too much vinegar (for me, I can't stand it), no smokey flavour (maybe he saved it all for the BBQ sauce!)
The service was excellent, friendly, helpful and respectful. Happy to give extra ribs - rare in Amsterdam - so if it gets popular that might not last
I will definitely be going back some Monday or Wednesday.
