Vapiano begon in 2002 in Hamburg, Duitsland. In Nederland opende het eerste restaurant in 2007, in Den Haag, met echt iets anders. Een jaar lang kwamen gasten uit heel Nederland naar Den Haag om kennis te maken met het bijzondere concept. Het eerste restaurant in Nederland waar besteld werd met een pasje, het eten direct voor je klaar gemaakt werd en je achteraf afrekent. Handgemaakte verse pasta wordt voor je neus gekookt, precies zoals jij het lekker vindt. Extra peper? Zeker wel. Geen knoflook? Geen probleem. Hou je niet van champignons? We laten ze weg.

Personalisatie was de sleutel en vandaag de dag is dat relevanter dan ooit.

Inmiddels zijn er 10 restaurants in Nederland. Het laatste restaurant is de zomer van 2021 geopend in Westfield Mall of the Netherlands in Leidschendam. Daarnaast is het pasjes systeem ingewisseld voor bestelling vanaf je tafel waar het eten lekker naar je toe wordt gebracht.

It’s crazy. Waiting 70 minutes for a plate of pasta! UPD: it is still very tasty food, though. So, if you have time and not too hungry, it should be alright.

I love you guys, I don’t know why Vapiano has such low ratings but it’s the best pasta in the world (I ate it in London, Budapest, Sao Paulo and Amsterdam like 15 times and you are the best!!!)

Nice place for international italian food. A little restricted due to the pandemic but now as the world slowly reopens, its good to get some flavors. Their spicy chilli is really spicy, watch out

The food tastes amazing, but in the 5 times we ordered it took a long time to then never get the correct order. Once it was super cold food. Today it was someone else’s food. What happened to my favorite Italian food chain?! Get your things in order please.

Only prepay with phone, but fails since bank requires identier. Then twice up down the stairs for payment and order goes wrong. Waiting 30 min for pizza, and after 60 min they realize the salad has not been made yet. Personal agrees it is a mess. Due to the prepay they have no consequence for their bad service. A refund to compensate would be appreciated.

The service is very slow. Two chefs for the whole restaurant + take away and clearly understaffed.. I would not recommend unless you are not hungry and want to wait for your food until you do become hungry! The pasta is good though ngl.

I really like Vapiano usually but this place is so badly managed!! Half the restaurant was « closed » as they are lacking staff (not paying them enough or treating them well to attract them?) and we were forced to be packed on one table although there were plenty more upstairs. No pizza or salad were available, and they only told us about it after making us wait for about 20 minutes. Then their payment system didn’t work, so they sent me upstairs instead of assisting me. In the end I spent the full evening with the manager trying to order instead of my family... And when I suggested a commercial gesture, I was simply ignored.

I guess that’s the only time I am sorry that my phone camera is so good that it can’t show the whole disaster. The photo looks much nicer than the reality. It was the worst pasta in my life. Overcooked, cold, dry of being on air or under the heating lamp, sticked to each other. You could even separate the spaghetti from each other. The veggies in Bolognese sauce were crunchy (so even the sauce wasn’t cooked properly). The atmosphere is another disaster. I understand that horeca is going through hard times as I work in hospitality too. Tables are dirty and they stay like this for 30 minutes at least. The staff doesn’t know what guests order. Waiters were constantly walking around the floor and asking every table if someone ordered this dish or not (no wonder the dishes come cold). Saw pizza man delivering orders to the tables. Saw guests going down to pick their order as they couldn’t wait anymore. I am writing this review not only for the customers but for management of the restaurant. It’s super dirty in the restaurant and the atmosphere is chaotic. The staff doesn’t know how to act and plan their work. Keep walking around bringing plate by plate separately (and it’s going down and up the stairs!) when you must teach your staff how to use trays for god’s sake. Your waiters bring drinks, straws, cutlery and clean the table not all at a time but come every two minutes! So it’s four times they come to the same table without any real need while the restaurant full of people and you lack staff (and it’s for every table!!!!!). Other tables are full of dirty dishes so new customers can’t take a seat. I was watching this chaos and then I got my awful food I wasn’t even going to finish. At least train your staff before letting them begin. I never blame the staff who has no experience but the management who doesn’t care about training their staff. Total disgrace.
