About BRET

BAR/ RESTAURANT/ CLUB

BRET, with its signature red look, gives the gray Sloterdijk area a much-needed impulse. To make it a cozier place to be, we transformed the whole square into a lush green park. And in the middle of that park, BRET arises like a red heart pumping life into a gray office area it once was.

BRET now serves as a meeting place for everyone who wants to dine, drink, dance, daydream, get inspired and connect. Check out all BRET events.

Meanwhile, we went ahead with an even more ambitious sustainable project called de Tuin van Bret, which now serves as a entrepreneurial area where one can rent co-working spaces, and where occasionally we host events.

Honest food and Craft Beers

We believe in honesty and sustainability. That means our chefs focus on great taste and little waste.

Therefore we only work with local wholesalers, organic produce, and farms with maximum animal welfare.

As BRET is also a beer garden it is no surprise that we are stocked with the most unique local craft beers of Amsterdam. We love our craft beers and want to share that passion with you! So whether you come in for a drink or a bite we always know how to perfectly pair your beer with food and vice versa.

We are dearly commited to reducing our waste, practicing pollution prevention and conserving energy and natural resources wherever possible.

Very friendly and kind service. Their home-made limonades are outstanding! My burger was good but nothing special. Very fair value for money.

Ha, the Bret. I work close by so that’s why I found myself there with two pitchers of beer in my hands. Not sure about the beer selection, so you’ll have to see it by yourself... but they have at least one IPA and general thin blondes. Food is palatable, the outdoor is awesomely welcoming and big while the indoor is cozy at ground floor and have an intimate development upstairs. Make sure you check out the top floor. It looks awesome for a private party, or for casual drinking with a friend or a group. It’s close to the station so you can drink until 3’ away from your train, or bike yourself away of course. Staff is friendly, but not very chatty in my experience. Also is great that they serve pitchers. Feels like home. I think pitchers should be default when you order beer all around the globe. If you want a smaller unit you’d have to ask for it. ?

Loved it!!! It seems food is not served here, only snacks, but it's a nice place.

Amazing place! They have a great craft beer, really good food, fantastic climate included music and service. It is my favorite place in Amsterdam! If You are going to be there, check vegetarian home burger by Bret - Best vege-burger in my life. :) Big plus: beautiful garden and a lot of space inside.

Nice low profile place with 70 and 80 music. Unfortunately they didn't have food on the Wednesday we went there. Nice staff.

Really nice place for drinks (love they are serving pitchers) with a fab atmosphere but forget about ordering a burger. Waited over an hour for a beef burger... Beef patty was so overcooked became as hard as a cricket ball and fries were cold. Gave the benefit of the doubt, tried again this time patty was half cooked.

Cool place curiously furnished especially the wrecked car outside. The inside is quite small, giving a nice vibe with red lights, rustic tables and some green here and there. The food menu's not translated but we managed to order two tasty Hamburgers and for the beers we relied on the staff which was very open and friendly. We spent roughly 45 Euros in total, which is ok.
