★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Een aanrader.
Goed georganiseerd uitje voor jong en oud. Wat een pracht uitstap voor weinig geld. Uitstekende prijs / kwaliteitverhouding.

What a surprise this accommodation was. When booking, the photos on the site were not very clear, so when we arrived and saw that the house was neat, large, spacious and in a beautiful location, we were sold. Booked 10 person cottage with buoy pool. Spacious, 2 bathrooms, 2 toilets and 4 bedrooms. Wide view and super friendly welcome and the owners are very nice and friendly. We will definitely come back because there is plenty to do in the area, especially with children.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a wadlopen activity. The people are very friendly. After the activity we had fish and chips. As we were hungry, I am glad to say that the food came fast and plenty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a very bad experience. I have been on mudflat hiking tours before and therefore expected something very different - especially since very young children (mine are 3 and 5) were allowed.
Weather conditions were very bad (sure, nobody can be blamed for that). It started to rain shortly after we reached the starting point of our tour. When it didn't get better, we asked one guide whether it was possible to take a shortcut. This was answered by a brusque "No."
Shortly after that, we had to wade through a tideway deep enough to reach my son's shoulders had he walked through it himself. I carried him. We didn't get any advice or assistance, which resulted in too many people wading through the tideway at the same time. Many got stuck in the mud making the people coming after them stumble, including myself. Up to my belly in the water, carrying my son, I wouldn't have been able to get up again without another participant's help.
When we walked on we heard another parent address one of the guides saying that this tour wasn't suitable for small children. The answer he got was that only kids older than 7 were allowed. We checked: It didn't clearly say so on the website, it didn't say so in our confirmation email and certainly nobody told us when we went to pick up our tickets or boarded the ship. Personally, I think this tour is only suitable for families with older kids (at least 10+). Especially, when weather conditions aren't ideal.
Wellwe made it through, carrying our kids most of those very unpleasant 90 minutes. In retrospect, what annoys me the most, is that the guides didn't care too much. They didn't assist us in any way. What they gave us though was that look saying: "Gosh, tourists!"

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have been watt hiking yesterday with little kids (5 and 8). It was a hike of horror. We certainly expected something else. Water was really really high, with all the rain, walking was even worse. With the the high water, our little daughter fell into the water, screamed for help and we were totally scared. She had to continue walking -in fact we had to carry both kids most of the way“ in fierce rain for another hour or so, completely wet and shivering. I think there were not enough guides, too, for such a big group, and frankly, they also didnt seem to care too much....
The organizers should be more concerned about safety and not allow watt hiking for kids below 12 years of age and warn parents upfront. In addition, in case of rain, they should either warn in addition, or cancel. Also, more guides are needed. If you want to offer this for kids, make a guided 30min tour just close by to the place.
SAFETY FIRST!
In addition, all our cameras and cell phones got wet, obviously, so bring water tight bags to pack everything.
Other families who joined had similar experiences.
Memorable? Certainly. But not in a good way. Never ever again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff is incredibly nice and flexible, ever with us booking just the night before the hike. The tour and hike were great, the food was a very welcome addition. Highly recommend!
