My credit card Mastercard has function of debit card as well, can be used both ways. he didn't even try or verify. I wrote to customer support with no asnwers at all. it's a shame!

At the moment I picked up the car, guy advised me to take a pic when return so I have a prove that "everything is right with the car"... something I never did before with other renting companies and sounded weird to me. The biggest surprise came after returning the car, when I received an invoice of 48,95€ + 5€ penalty for leaving the car with empty tank according to Europcar.. When I called Europcar the first reaction before asking my details was "do you have anything to throw on us? You have to prove that tank was full, otherwise it wasn´t". Lucky me I kept receive of car return where its "full tank" indicated. I felt this company is not trustful and they are trying to charge extra to foreign costumers (need of pictures and the accusation of empty tank when it was full)... This is so unprofessional. I will never book again. Much better experiences with Hertz.
T	Tanja Schaefer on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely dreadful. Rented a car and arrived just after six to find out that they close at this airport branch at 6pm. Fair enough, I should have checked. I left them a voicemail, letting them know that I didn't realise they close early and I would come to pick up the car the next day early afternoon and to please honor the booking. Arriving, the counter was not occupied. So I rang the number, explained the situation and being told that "it doesn't work like this". And in fact it would take him a while to get to the counter and he couldn't promise a car. They didn't ring back to honor my voice message, no email or text nothing. I know full well that I should have checked opening hours (I picked up a lot of cars from other companies at this location but never had an issue so didn't check), however the tone of voice, the willingness to provide a service or trying to help a customer was more than poor. so, end of the story, never got a car and now a brand new Avis customer (who at this branch I can highly recommend).
