★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tourists beware! I've lived in Amsterdam for years and rented bikes for visitors 20+ times. Zwarte Fietsenplan is 2-3 times more expensive than all the other bike rental options I've seen. MacBikes and Stadfiets charge 9 euros a day, where this place charges over 18 euros a day! They charge for everything possible to get the price to a ridiculous rate which is simply not worth it. The process of getting the bikes took FOREVER compared to experiences at other places, and there is ZERO FLEXIBILITY. The other bike places I mentioned, you pay when you return the bike and you pay for the time you've had it. This place, you pay in advance for the time and they won't do refunds if you return the bike early. The bikes were also uncomfortable to ride due to saddle placement. Would not recommend this place for ANYONE. Worst bike rental experience I've ever had.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My chain broke and after telling the mechanic how to help me (he didn't come up with the idea of at least fixing my old one as he didn't have a replacement), he charged me 10 euros for a 5 minute task(!) instead of using this as an opportunity to find loyal clients that bring future revenue. And no, in contrast to the claim further down in the comments here that prices are communicated before the work, this did not happen.
Used to rent bikes here when I had guests visiting me in Amsterdam. But with this attitude, I'll look for a different place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I like these people! They are always clear about what you can expect: an itemized list of the repairs they do, a maximum price (and it's usually less), they send you an sms when your bike is ready and .... they know their stuff. And they're nice!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am shopping for an e-bike and have been to several shops all over Amsterdam with mixed results. I am so happy I found this shop as the staff here are so knowledgeable and patient. They have answered SO many questions I told them they should teach a class. ;) They all speak excellent English. It does help that they have a large staff so there is always someone to help. Thank you Abel, Dyn, Ramez and Kryn (I hope I spelled the names right!).

The guy made the price on spot, not even checking what the problem was and even start telling me what other problems are (trying to charge even more). I hesitated and went away to another bike repair shop. I paid 12.50 EUR. So avoid these guys!
