J	John Mayfield on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best customer service I’ve experienced in Europe outside of a hotel. The first shop I walked in didn’t have the pedal brake bikes that we wanted so they called another shop 1km away and reserved them for us. Walked to the other shop and they were out and ready for us. Signed and rode off. Bikes were in good shape and convenient to return to another Blake Bikes shop across town. Bikes are easily the most efficient way to get around Amsterdam. Minus one star for requiring insurance for a three hour rental.

Additionally you have the option to return your bike in a different Black Bikes store than the one you have rented it initially from.
D	Dima Tsybulskiy on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The bikes: this place seems to only have one type of bike size and it is fairly small. It was really uncomfortable to ride. Their rental bikes also have only one fixed gear which makes it harder to pedal. There is no place in back to strap your bag. And finally, the seat was very uncomfortable. All of this was different with other bikes I have rented out. To top it off, when I brought the bike back, the guy checking it in was quite rude. He was chatting with his work colleague and would not even acknowledge me for several minutes. Then he checked the bike in and asked how it was...when I told him a few of the issues, he just said, " That's too bad... here you go (handing me the receipt)." Overall, you can find much better bikes and service.

The second time I used the lock the key broke off in the lock without my knowledge (my friend tested this and said it was demonstrably easy to do and unless you were looking out for it it was hard to notice that it had happened). Sadly after less than half an hour of being left alone the bike was taken and so I returned straight to the store where I was told I would have to pay €520 because the insurance didn't cover me! Later I tried to argue that insurance should cover a faulty key and lock and while the staff in the shop understood everyone I have tried to speak with from management either over the phone or through email has blown me off. Be careful also because even if insurance "covers" your bike theft the minimum you have to pay is €170

I bought a new bike, they let me pay extra for the first service in 3 months (which other stores give for free) and when I went there(today) I left my bike and they told me that it’s going to be ready at 12:00 so I can go pick up my son from school, I went there 14:15 and they haven’t even touch it! Saying they where very busy, ( they were 4 people doing nothing at the moment. Talking sarcastic and with no empathy for the client. I hope I haven’t bought my bike from these guys!!!
