★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dit is Kazemat 39 van de Geul-linie. Deze kazemat van het type S-3 maakte onderdeel uit van de Grenslijn van de Nederlandse Geul-linie.
Door de Territoriaal Bevelhebber in Zuid-Limburg (TBZL) werden twee weerstandslinies aangelegd, te weten een grenslijn met 4 S-3 kazematten en een vertragingslijn met 30 S-3 kazematten. Deze kazematten hadden drie schietgaten.
Deze kazemat werd op 10 mei 1940 gebruikt voor de verdediging van de oostgrens. Ze werd bemand door de 6e Reserve Grenscompagnie Zuid Limburg, onderdeel van het 2e bataljon van het 37e Regiment Infanterie. Deze kazemat, van het type Stekelvarken (S3), werd verdedigd met lichte mitrailleurs.

 This is Casemate 39 of the Geul Line. This type S-3 casemate was part of the Border Line of the Dutch Geul Line.
The Territorial Commander in South Limburg (TBZL) built two resistance lines, namely a border line with 4 S-3 casemates and a delay line with 30 S-3 casemates. These casemates had three loopholes.
This casemate was used on May 10, 1940 for the defense of the eastern border. She was manned by the 6th Reserve Border Company South Limburg, part of the 2nd battalion of the 37th Infantry Regiment. This casemate, of the Porcupine (S3) type, was defended with light machine guns.
