I had the good fortune to spend six nights here in early October 2021. I could not have been happier with my stay. The room was spacious, well-appointed, and tastefully decorated. Everyone I came in contact with was gracious and friendly. The breakfast was amazing! Great location. I highly recommend this property.

We were shocked upon entering the hotel because no one greeted us and we had to carry our luggage ourselves. Your staff is very uninterested, the menus are very limited, we were completely hungry at the hotel. We asked for alternatives at the restaurant but no one was helpful. Your room service menu and your restaurant menu were the same, it was really a joke, it can't be such a 5 star...It was our first time in Amsterdam and we had a terrible experience, so we moved to another hotel. We will never choose you again. There are too many things missing from the hotel.

My wife and I had a great stay at the Amstel hotel. Dinner was perfectly arranged in the room during covid times and the barcocktails and food was all wonderful. We had a great time and rest.

From the initial welcome to the final checkout, our stay at the Amstel Hotel, Amsterdam was a most memorable and pleasurable experience. Every member of staff was friendly, helpful, attentive and professional. The restaurant for dinner and breakfast was also a wonderful experience. We would have no hestiation staying at the Amstel Hotel for future visits to this fantastic city.

Had my birthday lunch there. Overall food wasn’t bad but nothing to be wowed. Service is on par as you would expect from a 5* luxury hotel. However, one of the staff had his mask under his chin which is annoying. The standard should apply to all service staff. Also while booking direct from the hotel reservation site, they asked for dietary or any other comments. I indicated we are celebrating my birthday but this wasn’t picked up from any one of them there. I am not asking for free meal or anything, I would expect someone to read my message and being a 5* hotel, to pick up things like this and had the staff wishing me for example. Too bad I’m a global customer service consultant so I am particular about such details.

Beds are incredibly comfortable. My husband and I have been regular guests for well over 15 years and have always enjoyed our stay. Hotel is in need of some TLC. Other than that, we will certainly return in due course.

We had dinner last night at the hotel, and when we arrived to the hotel, there was not a clear sign of where the restaurant was, so we had to wait until someone could guide us. From there, the waiter at the door just showed us where the table was from afar, but didn't care much to accommodate our group. In terms of food, I enjoyed it, but it didn't have the wow-factor that one would expect from a 5* hotel. So, it was just good enough. I wouldn't go back there to eat, but at least I've still enjoyed the experience.

I enjoyed a group lunch at the Amstel Hotel restaurant. For health reasons I am currently following a vegan and gluten-free diet. This was mentioned w the reservation as well as again when I got there. The waiters were very accommodating and very attentive to our whole group. The first two course were vegan and gluten-free as far as I could tell. The dessert I got at the end though turned out to have had both dairy and gluten in it. I believe that one of the waiters gave my gluten-free and vegan dessert to one of my colleagues who had the actual gluten-free and vegan dessert which was meant for me. For me this won't have a major negative health impact but for anyone that is actually allergic to gluten this is a deal breaker. Please beware and triple check before accepting any food in case you are on a very strict gluten-free or vegan diet.
