Great hotel in the center of Amsterdam! They had a very friendly staff and an easy self-service check-in/check-out system. The standard room sizes are good for a weekend trip. They also have a nice bar/eating area in the well-decorated lobby. One criticism is that there were not enough umbrellas available for all guests in the hotel. In a city that rains almost everyday, they should have a larger stock of umbrellas for when guests need them.

Booking experience is lausy. Instead of payment at hotel my credit card was fully charged in advance. My Emails have been not replied to, my booking was not found - now citizenM will not find me anymore as a "citizen". Smart marketing is not sufficient when customer service is missing.

We stayed for one week and had a marvelous time. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They made us feel welcome from day one! The lobby is like a big eclectic living room, with art, soft cozy furniture and functional tables if you want to work. The restaurant / bar is integrated into the lobby, making it very convenient if you decide to eat. Our room was very efficiently designed; not a cubic centimeter was wasted! However, that left very little space to move around. Overall, I will definitely be seeking out other CitizenM hotels for future trips. The open, lobby-centric concept works very well for us.

Nice boutique hotel with beautiful new rooms, elegant lobby and bar areas. Attentive staff too. Very secure building in a wonderful location with recently revitalized tram stops and roads. Not far from the city center if you know the route. A good value for the price. Small rooms here remind me of my Hong Kong hotels - except they were larger. Maybe you can upgrade and have more square meters if desired. A quick 7 minute cycle ride to the centrum.

I'll explain my 1 star because it would have been more if the hotels response didn't come across as placing me to blame. I was nice in my feedback as the rooms were clean and comfortable and the location was great, my ONLY issue was the clicking noise from the ventilation system that did not allow me to sleep and the very poor breakfast we experienced. That was it! The response from the hotel was that they were sorry but there was no noise coming from the room. Please keep in mind, in THEIR OWN SURVEY they send you after, one of the options of complaint you can choose from is THE VENTILATION SYSTEM! Am I crazy? Then, when I said the only options for breakfast we had were croissants, a pot of bacon, a pot of tomatoes and cheeses with no drinks they replied saying they were confused as they have tons of other options...but none of that stuff was there! Really think I'd be complaining about a 15 euro breakfast if I had all these options? Plus, when inquiring about drinks, we were pointed to the section of drinks we had to pay for. The staff was nice and when I complained they offered me earplugs (so I guess they know) and to move rooms but at that time, we only had a day left so didn't want to pack up and move. I would have been OK with all this stuff if they just acknowledged my issue and not defend themselves when they obviously know about the ventilation system and hello, if the breakfast options they said were available were there, I wouldn't be bothered! I never asked for compensation of any sort, I was never rude to the staff who were all lovely, but to reply to my issues by blaming me saying I could've moved rooms (I gave my reason) and suggesting I could've tried all the breakfast options that weren't there, really makes me sad and tarnishes an otherwise great trip. I go to Amsterdam very often on holidays and business trips but can guarantee, I will not be staying here again.

We had a four night stay at the CitizenM by the Amstel river which was outstanding. Our room was relatively small but very well organized. Their use of technology is just right (it makes things simpler and provides options to be self sufficient). The lounge downstairs is really cool and the bar is lively without being overwhelming. The decor is great and you feel like you are staying somewhere where someone has paid attention to detail. We ate in the lounge a couple of times, they had a great mix of snacks and full menu. The location was great too - you could get to most places we were looking for in 15-30 minutes walking which was perfect. The most exceptional aspect was the staff. They were very friendly, very helpful and always cheerful. We will return. P.S. shout out to the Bakhus next door for great coffee and wonderful baked goods.

The room was great, the bed awesome, it felt like our personal playground the way it was setup, big kudos for the technology used to control everything in the room, innate chromecast support was a blessing as well. One thing that I would suggest is to make it possible to change the colour of the lights in the actual room as well as opposed to only being able to change the bathroom light. Nb. Review is based on one night without breakfast. Also the staff was friendly and the room was clean

Great boutique hotel in the center of Amsterdam! They have an easy self-service check-in/check-out system. The rooms are perfectly sized. We adored the futuristic interior. My partner was obsessed with the technology ?I loved the pink shower cabin? They also have a nice bar/eating area in the lobby. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Great mojito and other cocktails ? We definitely will come back! Thanks guys.
