About Mauritshuis
De schilderijen in het Mauritshuis zijn honderden jaren oud. Toch zien ze er vandaag de dag nog steeds goed uit. Hoe kan dat? We bewaren ze onder ideale omstandigheden - de juiste temperatuur, luchtvochtigheid, soms achter beschermend glas - en plegen onderhoud. Die onderhoudsbeurten worden uitgevoerd door onze restauratoren.
Zoals wij mensen in de loop van de tijd veranderen - je huis veroudert, je krijgt grijs haar - zo gebeurt dat ook met schilderijen. Ze verkleuren, er komen barstjes in de verf, de verf kan loslaten, er ontstaan scheurtjes in het doek of het paneel. Om ze in goede conditie te houden worden ze gerestaureerd.

The museum is located right in the center of The Hague next to the Binnenhof, the buildings of the House of Representatives and the historic office of the Prime Minister ('t Torentje) at the center of political power in the Netherlands.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great Dutch masters collection, of course with the classic Girl with the Pearl Earring. However some painting explanations were a bit awkward. Also beautiful building. May be a bit smaller than you expected.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My favorite museum in Den Haag! Great works from Rembrandt, Vermeer and Jan Steen. Cafe is overpriced for what you get, just go the one of the cafes on the square (Plein) close the museum.

The art work is amazing and the environment is friendly.
The guidance app system is useful and knowledgeable but has some troubles that some QR code can’t work and some art’s works number on the app are different from the actually number.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must visit if you are in The Hague. The weather was perfect thay day. The tickets are 17.5 € if you dont have a museum pass. You can find artwork by Rembrandt, Vermeer and other famous artists. And of course there is the girl in the pearl earring. I will definitely recommend this museum, not just for the famous paintings that is houses but also the building with makes you awestruck.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I usually get bored after more than 2 hours in a museum. This one was perfect: marvelous paintings, it is not so big, just 2 floors, not very crowded, it was a delight. We enjoyed it a lot and somehow it is on 1st place when it comes to museums.
