β β β β β Very informative journey through the processes used to drive societal behavior. Not a tour for young children, some descriptions can be quite detailed.

β β β β β The English audiogude was a little bit uncomfortable. I visited in March and there was no heater in the museam so that visiters can experience the real situation in prison. But it was really cold.

β β β β β Short and fast tour. Attended one on Dutch language with English audio( English language tours are available too at appropriate times). For my taste a little bit too short and too fast tour. Price is affordable and is 10 Euro per person.

β β β β β This museum is significant due to the historical events that took place here concerning the brothers De Witt in the 17th century. However, aside from this fact, I found the museum to be rather underwhelming. Thereβs not a lot to see since most rooms are mostly empty. The exhibit could be improved by including more information, narrative and historical objects. The first half of the museum focuses on a story about a servant who was prosecuted at the Gevangenpoort centuries ago. I didnβt find the story very engaging to be honest and seemed to be geared more towards a younger audience.

β β β β β A neat tour and look into past history of the prison. The tour guide really made the experience worth it. Without the tour, the building was really non-descript and not what you may expect. There are audio guides available. Tours are usually done in Dutch, but you may request an english tour (or audio guide) at no extra cost. The admissions n price isn't cheap, but with the tour included, it is worth the price.

β β β β β A very well thought arrangement of viewing plan for the museum. A single story, about a maid being subjected to the judicial system in the past for supposed poisoning in food, guides the visitor to the various elements of the museum. We were given a tour by Mr. Han who was very passionate in his explanation and was very friendly.

β β β β β Beautiful old building where until 1860 prisoners were kept and prosacuted. You can vist the old cell blocks and the more convenient ones for knights and women. They also have a lot of original torture instrument and other equipement that was used to interrogate prisoners. Also information concerning one of the most famous prisoner, Cornelis de Witt.
