About Mystery House Valkenburg
De eigenaardige conciërge Egidius Theodorus Lumière leefde voor ‘zijn’ bioscoop in het hart van Valkenburg. Hij had altijd een baantje in de cinema gewild, en beschermde dit met zijn leven. Zijn droom werd echter een nachtmerrie. De bezoekers bleven weg en zijn geliefde bioscoop raakte langzaam in verval.
Nadat de directeur in 1987 overleed, kwam er een einde aan de bioscoop én aan de droom van de toegewijde Egidius. Gebroken en gekweld bleef hij achter. Niemand heeft hem ooit nog buiten gezien…
En hij lijkt niet uit te kijken naar jullie komst…

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautifully built escape room in an old cinema. We did the one in a psychiatric ward and managed last-minute. It was hard and the riddles were fun. Unfortunately the story really didn't come out of the playing experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are in Valkenburg for longer than an afternoon, be sure to book a room here. IT IS AWESOME.
Not only is the roomguide pleasant, the puzzle difficulty and the story accompanying the room is well thought out. There never was a moment I wasn't solving 'something', even if it didn't lead to solve the directly needed puzzle.
The particular room I was in allowed concurrent solving by giving multiple 'locks' to the next step, making sure nobody in the group ends up with nothing to do.
Go here. The whole experience is filmic.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really, really good fun. You're set a task to escape a room by solving a number of ingenious clues and puzzles. We went with a group of friends and had a very enjoyable hour escaping from the 'zodiac killer'. It was so much fun we're already planning our next visit!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We did this on a whim on the final day of our vacation weekend. The young lady who explained the escape room experience was easy to talk to, happy and made the rules understandable and fun. Once we were in the room and the initial disorientation, we started with the escape. The puzzle difficulty was just right and with teamwork, we managed to just escape in time. I definitely want to return for the other rooms. Ooh the theme room we did was asylum madness.
