While salesman at Oris Boutique Amsterdam was very friendly when selling my Oris Big Crown Pointer Date to me, this immediately changed when I came back for service when after 18 months (well within warrenty period) the automatic winding mechanism didn’t function properly. First, the shop-owner said it was ‘normal’ that you have to wind your automatic watch manually every now and then. Only after being persistent he was willing to send the watch for service. Then, Oris Boutique claimed that watch was broken because of severe damage from outside (I as a user am certain; there never was severe damage from outside). Oris Boutique and also representative from Oris Netherlands refused to cooperate in asking independent expertise. After more than 4 months, I got my watch back after paying 325 euros. Much to my surprise, the ‘severe damage’ Oris ‘showed’ on the photograph they made was completely invisible after only some polishing of the watch. Look for yourself, attached I show you the two pictures! For me no more Oris watches and certainly not from Oris Boutique Amsterdam.

And they really transfer their love for mechanical watches and Oris in particular to their visiting customers. I can imagine that Oris HQ are really proud of them, since the Oris brand advertises "Real watches for real people". I am a huge fan of Oris, and have been for years now. So fortunate that the entire Oris collection is within 45 minutes of travel time :-). Keep up the good work!

He really knew his stuff too! Had a great, geeky, watch conversation. Unfortunately, I was unable to buy on the day as the exchange rate was so poor. (Nothing to do with the shop. Thanks, Brexit!) I did, however, purchase the watch I'd fallen in love with in here as soon as I arrived home. My experience in this shop pushed me towards buying my first Oris. Great advocates for an amazing and storied watch brand. If you're in Amsterdam and like watches do pop in! (Maybe leave your wallet with your partner if you're as impulsive as me ?)

I've never owned an Oris or a proper Swiss mechanical watch, but for years I have admired the designs of the ChronOris and Sixty-Five Diver series. I went in to have a look and maybe try them on. The owner and his family were gracious and helpful in letting me try on several watches, as well as look at a few that were very cool (like the 1917 Limited Edition reissue in the photo). I don't usually make large purchases on travel, due to export/VAT issues, etc., but the owners here explained the new rule in NL that VAT does not apply to exports when customs verification is provided within several months. At the boutique, they have a system set up to make this process as easy as possible. So, I fell in love with a gray dial ChronOris on a leather strap and walked away with it quite happy. It was a pleasure talking with the owner and his family who run the boutique.

They are situated in the city center of Amsterdam, close to the Dam, so just by going there is already a precious moment. The team was very receptive and helpful. As a non-dutch speaker, I had no issues communicating in english, for which I am very thankful. They have a vast collection of Oris Watches, including limited editions at your disposal.
