★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our visit was today was disorganised and unhelpful. We called ahead to ask about coming in to get his mouth checked as we suspect a tongue/lip-tie and the first thing we get when we walk in was the receptionist refusing to let us in. No one goes to the GGD for fun. (The walk-in times are inconvenient for older babies/toddlers who need to sleep between 1-3pm.) Finally, after a lot of back-and-forth, we were allowed to wait in order to see a paediatrician. The doctor didn't seem to know how to handle my son (who, of course, wasn't just going to open his mouth if you asked him), didn't have a tongue compressor, and didn't seem to care. I guess that was what got me the most. I went in there because I was concerned about his oral health and speech but she just said, "Oh, it's not a severe case, he probably just hasn't stuck out his tongue yet" (He's 20 months old??!) I said we show him how to stick out his tongue but he can't do it. She said maybe he doesn't understand what you're asking of him? I had to state, very firmly, that he understands, he just can't do it. In the end, I just walked out of there resigned. She didn't seem know much and/or didn't seem to care. She also didn't seem to know that a 20 month old is fully capable of understanding instructions like "stick out your tongue", "put the toys back on the table please," (which he did, because he was holding on to a tape measure he'd taken from her desk). Overall a very disappointing experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have had two visits so far and both times we got treated very unfriendly. None of them seem very motivated. It almost seems as if they can't be bothered to work. Also, they don't really talk with the baby or child. It's more like an object than a human. That's what the impressions was like to me and my husband. Hopefully next time they are in a better and more professional mood...
