Restaurant Sama Sebo is het oudste Indonesisch specialiteiten restaurant van Nederland.
Kom langs voor een lunch, diner of lekkere neut. In de keuken staan alleen koks met Javaanse roots. Zij weten als geen ander ‘hoe het eigenlijk heurt’. Consessies aan originele gerechten, no way. Vergeet die Nasi Goreng die je zelf thuis in elkaar flanst. Verwacht streekgerechten als gado-gado, een uitgebreide rijsttafel of stel je eigen (non-)vega maal samen. In rap tempo, zeg 5-10 minuten, serveert de in batik geklede ober het voor je uit. Hoe fijn is dat als je goede trek hebt! De Indonesische keuken is er één van de voorbereiding. Bij de bestelling worden alleen nog de puntjes op de ‘i’ gezet. Maak je echter geen zorgen over de versheid, want die is dik in orde. (Window)shopse in de P.C. en binnenkort zien ze je graag bij Sama Sebo!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a great find. Was just round the corner from our hotel and we wanted to have an Indonesian meal while in the city. We couldn't have found anywhere better. It was quite full but the manager was keen to fit us in and got us two seats at the bar. We had the rijsttafel which was a selection of different dishes. We were asked what we particularly liked so they could make it to our choosing. Every dish was absolutely delicious.
The manager was very friendly and spent quite a bit of time chatting to us and telling us about all the famous guests they have had in there. All in all our best evening experience in Amsterdam. Will definitely be back if we visit again

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is shockingly familiar although you may have never been there. It’s welcoming and relaxed, yet bustling. Hugs of the familiar abound. The bartenders and wait staff make you feel at home. I am not in my native country, but when the waiter puts his arm around me I did not feel a want to withdraw. I didn’t get a chance to say what I wanted they knew what I wanted a sampling of everything in sample size! I could not get everything in one picture. All delicious all Indonesia food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I got the special plate and the chicken was dry and tasteless, it was probably made some time ago. Other food were okay, nothing significant. We paid 21 euros for this dish and I can say that it was one of the worst times I spent so much money on a average quality and small dish.
My other friend had Rijks Taffel, it was basically the same stuff as ours plus some different stuff, but it was served on seperate plates. I can say that it also was a bad choice, because of the little amount and food quality.
The only positive thing was the big chips thing and the interior of the restaurant. Also there were some different tastes you can try.
Overall it's just pointless wasting so much money on low quality food, I don't recommend this place to anyone who pays attention to price/performance ratio.

The food is absolutely delicious and the ambience of the space along with the wonderful staff makes it a memorable experience
