★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I discovered Sluizer Restaurant while discovering the neighborhood. I was a bit reluctant to enter, as it was perhaps a bit over my budget. Upon entering (I decided I had to try it!), I was warmly greeted by a handsome and very friendly host, who took my jacket and showed me to a cozy table. What transpired over the next hour branded the memory of this evening in my heart and on my palate: I was waited on by the most personable and experienced Klaas and was treated to an exquisite dinner of beautifully prepared fish and a most delicious dessert accompanied by steaming, rich coffee. I ended my visit to Amsterdam having eaten twice more at Sluizer. During all of my following five visits to Amsterdam, I never missed the opportunity to experience Sluizer...at least once. Can't wait to go back!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My friend and I were walking along the Utrechtestraat and happened upon a sign for Sluizer's terrace garden. It was a windy/on-off rain day, but we thought to ask anyway (I am not that comfortable dining indoors since the pandemic). We were warmly greeted and were shown the terrace area and then, wonderfully, were able to sit there. It was very private, and even though it was 'far away' from the rest of the restaurant, we had a really nice dining experience. I am very thankful for the host for accommodating us despite the inconvenience. :) Excellent service. Food is great too — very delicious; and the crème brûlée is top five in Amsterdam. Thank you, Sluizer!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We ate in the terrace area, which was an indoor area looking over a garden. Beautiful! The food was great and the service was spectacular!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really enjoyed this restaurant while visiting Amsterdam. We were craving some French food and were not dissapointed.
We both ordered the surprise menu, which is what the name implies, a three course surprise menu.
Entree and main were both two pieces of fish or meat. All very delicious. Dessert was a scoop of ice cream in a syrup, which was sort of expected but still a little disappointing.
The surprise menu was about €35, so with drinks ended up being about €90 for two people.
Staff and presentation were amazing and the setting was lovely.
