About Sumo Oriental
Kleine gerechten met elkaar delen en samen verrast worden door een wereld aan aziatische smaken. Dit staat centraal in sumo oriëntal. Eind 2015 opende de eerste vestiging in breda, kort daarop volgde de vestiging in rotterdam kralingen. Het populaire sumo japanese sushi & grill restaurant introduceerde hiermee een luxe variant van haar ‘all you can eat’ concept.
Sumo oriëntal is veel kleinschaliger dan haar grote broer sumo japanse sushi & grill. Alles nodigt uit om op je gemak te genieten van een heerlijk lunch of diner. Verder zijn de gerechten groter, zodat je er gezamenlijk van kunt proeven. Voor dit shared dining principe betaal je nog steeds een vaste prijs exclusief de drankjes en de toetjes. Iedere tafelgenoot kan hiervoor per ronde twee gerechten bestellen. Het aantal gangen bepaal je zelf. Het bestellen van gerechten à la carte behoort ook tot de mogelijkheden.
Onze kaart heeft voor ieder wat wils. Je kunt kiezen uit verschillende sushi’s, sashimi’s en salades met mooie ingrediënten zoals zalm, tonijn, wakame en mango. Er zijn diverse soepen en gewokte, gebakken, gefrituurde en gegrilde aziatische specialiteiten. De kaart wisselt een paar keer per jaar, zodat je met regelmaat het veelzijdige smaakpalet van de aziatische keuken kunt ervaren.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice twist on the Sumo formula; smaller selection but not as frantic as the Sumo. There is a limit of two dishes per round, which makes it a lot easier to remember who ordered what.
The location in Breda is really fancy, and the personnel was particularly friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had dinner here with a work colleague. The food was authentic and delicious. The presentation was lovely and the staff really helpful and polite. I would definitely go back here. We had an assortment of dishes including lamb chops, salmon sushi, fried chicken, beef and prawns.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a just-OK sushi place I've often both eaten in and ordered from. Today I was charged a 6 euro fee for three small containers to take home unfinished food - this after initially being informed I was not permitted to take home my leftovers.
It's worth mentioning this occurred after I ordered a fixed-price menu and did not order all the food I was entitled to and paid for. This is just cheap and mean behaviour, not to mention no way to treat a frequent customer.
Breda is bristling with mid-range sushi joints. I'll happily bring my business elsewhere.

They decided to change the menu for delivery services without updating any of their descriptions and have absolutely no intention of clarifying, solving or trying to reach an agreement with their clients. If you want to be held in long waiting hours and get something you did not order for - go for it.
