★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice atmosphere created in the space, but the prices are too high for the food you're getting. Vegetarian/vegan option was unimaginative and bland with little variety in veggies and 8 miniscule pieces of tofu. The peanut sauce was almost the same as the one that came with the main dish, mainly consisting of a lot of sweet soy sauce, garlic and some pepper. The spices were submerged in the sweetness. Finished everything because I just hate throwing away food.
Food was as good as cold when it arrived.
Were there on a fairly busy night, so might explain the cold food. No space to get to your table by moving the chairs if the table in front of you or behind you is sitting down, lavishly or not.
Vegans, Vegetarians and Allergy concerned!! Warning!!! Ask about EVERYTHING since nothing is indicated on the menu whatsoever.
The vegetarian option in Dutch doesn't say that there's fish or oyster sauce in the dish, while the English one does. Waiters defence for that was that some guests "don't mind eating fish", doesn't mean other people don't either or it classifies as vegetarian.
As mentioned before, the quality of the veg-food is of a low standard compared to what is possible for the same or lower price.
The sambal tasted like something that could have anchovies in it so be careful with that too.
Good restaurant for omnivores with the standard expectations I guess, doesn't seem to be a very culinary challenging place.
Friendly staff, for what it's worth.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been eating in Surakarta for ten years now. It's the real deal. Excellent food, good service and doesn't cave to trends. To add a little anecdote, I left the restaurant today forgetting my cell phone behind. The lady from Surakarta ran about 500 meters to catch up with me and bring me my phone. All that with a smile. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ok food though not very authentic but unfortunately it’s always delayed with deliveries. Ordered twice and both deliveries were 1 hour late. Probably should get a scooter for faster delivery (they deliver with a car at the moment).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a small to medium sized Indonesian restaurant in Leiden city. Many people are coming to this place, especially for dinner. So, to avoid disappointment you might need to book a table in advance. Foods are quite good here, and they are a little bit sweet. I enjoyed my dinner in this restaurant. Rice and variations of meat are available. Prices are also very reasonable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good food, but not excellent. Basic issue I had is you walk in and you feel these slippery oily floors. Makes you wonder when the place was cleaned. The restaurant was full when we left. So make reservations.
We had to show we had called to proof we had a reservation. Seems they didn't write our request down so got poor seating.
Service was slow and somewhat disorganized. Ok food, had better Indonesian in other places.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very tasty food despite not being a huge lover of spice I enjoyed some of the spicy dishes. Only negative was it wasn't suitable for larger groups as we were a table of 9. Also they didn't have any cider to drink. Regardless I would still reccomend.
