★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't normally hand out 5*'s, but this wonderful little gem deserves each and every one of them...in every category. Food was delicious (foie gras, oysters, escargot, sole, risotto), but service made Van Speyk exceptional! Also... finally a restaurant that knows what an American is talking about when they order a Dry Vodka Martini. Bravo!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a very enjoyable dinner at this elegant and soft toned brasserie without glitz. The service was reproachless , the dishes exquisite in their composition and preparation. The staff is very welcoming without being familiar . The prices seem to be justified by all this. Van Speyk is definitely a place I would recommend to amateurs of bonne cuisine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is amazing, beautiful set up with a chic decor.
The service is fantastic.
The steak and lobster which is what we had were very well prepared and delicious. Dessert was also fantastic.
The only reason I'm not giving this place a 5 star review is because when we arrived at 10.30pm (they open till midnight) they said that the kitchen was getting ready to close and that we can't order any appetisers even though we were able to order meals like Steaks and Lobster which I find really weird. Also, we couldn't have any coffee because the coffee machine was also shut down before they closed.
I would've given this place a 3 star review because of that, however I decided to give it 4 stars because the food was really great and hopefully they will work harder to earn a 5 star review.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really gorgeous restaurant, love the wooden beams and chandeliers... but I don’t think I was that keen on either of our mains. It was reasonably expensive so I feel like mains should have been tastier. Dessert was the best though, I loved the lemon tart with coconut ice cream and that caramelised biscuit - yum!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place was recommend by the hotel concierge and it did not disappoint. The staff was polite, professional, and patient. The I travel with was really happy with our meals. I had the Seafood Risotto and spinach. The Risotto was cooked to perfection and the shrimps, clams, and scallop were delicious. I highly recommend you try this Dutch restaurant out if you are in Amsterdam

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff was super nice. I went there with my wife for her birthday and I asked them to light up a candle, they instead, added a sparkling candle to a dessert and gave it to my wife! The food also was amazing. Would suggest the Traditional Dutch Beef. Soft, bloody, and delicious!
