β β β β β Below par dinner and felt deeply ashamed I recommended the restaurant for the birthday celebration. Rude and disinterested service. The food was mediocre until the main course and the dessert arrived. Both of them being simply horrible. Lack of taste and creativity.
Do yourself and your wallet a favour and go somewhere else.

β β β β β Very nice restaurant, staff is very welcoming and provide a lot of explanation. We were 4 (2 teenagers), concept is to get a plate for two which you share. Great ideal! Our table was on lower floor with a view on the canal. Food is great, fresh and perfectly seasoning. Wine list is great too. Main floor you are just next the cook crew, next time we will ask a table there. We had fun as they are totally fan of Belgian singer "Jacques Brel". We will go back

β β β β β Maybe it was just the availability of seasonal ingredients, but much as I liked the service, I found the menu mostly underwhelming and not very flavourful. The veal cheek was good, and the cabbage was excellent but all the other dishes were very average and (frankly, super expensive, given that they were pretty basic vegetable salads). The dessert was memorable only for being meh (creme brΓ»lΓ©e).

Whenever we go to Amsterdam, we visit Brothers Hartering. Great food, wine and service.
The whole family are fans!
Just let them make you happy and they will.

β β β β β This was incredible! The service was very friendly and attentive. We also really liked the look of the restaurant. We had a lovely table in the back next to the window. The food was amazing. We enjoyed all the starters but the pulpo was the absolute highlight. We were very happy with the extra bread so we could soak up all the delicious sauce that came with it. The prime rib was also excellent. We loved the smokey edge to the meat. We had initially swapped out the dessert for a cheese course but in the end ended up adding the dessert after all which, apart from visiting the restaurant in the first place, was the best decision of the night. While not cheap by any means we felt the food was definitely worth it. We look forward to visiting again.

β β β β β Warning if you don't speak Dutch it can be tricky to make a reservation, I suggest calling. If you have not paid a deposit you have not made a reservation. This happen to us, fortunately it was Monday and they had a table. It was by far the best meal we had in Amsterdam. The staff is very attentive. We were seated down stairs which turned out to be very nice. We had the 5 course dinner. Every course was Great. I thank the staff for making our last night in Amsterdam very special

β β β β β Lovely restaurant with excellent food, an extensive wine list, and friendly servers. We picked the 5 course dinner and had some really tasty courses with wine pairing. My favorite course was the Duck. I'll have to come back next time for the Cote de bΕuf.
