★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very outrageous encounter! Being question by an employee about my own identity. Denying who I am. Having my ID card wasn't enough to speak for itself. Questioning and refusing to believe that I am French, despite my official nationality document under his eyes. Because my name didn't sound French to him. That he hasn't heard of it before, that this made it ground to not believe that I am French. That it couldn't be possible. And after being ask, what does a french name look or sound like, answering by "not like this". Who are you to question such a thing. Who are you to judge what should fit as a french name for a french person with a french ID card? In which setting, and especially me wanting to suscribe to an internet contract does allow you or enable you to proceed in such behaviour and mindset? That my origins, ethnicity, nationality and appellation couldn't fit together without questioning? This is in no case a behaviour or mindset that should appear or be express in anyway in our society. Being called out and denied my reality, my truth because it didn't fit someone believe of how it should be is the most disgusting experience to have.
I hope and wish to believe this is not the company policy or vision neither the society we live in. But unfortunately it is still present and needs to be adresed to avoid any further misfortune to anyone else but also to grow together by setting a clear view.
