J	Jessica Julia on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful castle. The room we slept in was nice and warm. Breakfast was simple but good. There is also a Christmas market close by that one can visit by bus.
T	Timothy Johnston on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Certainly a great view of the castle, but I must have misread and was disappointed to not stay in the castle, which is a private residence. The room in the hotel was adequate, but dated. It wasn’t super clean with spiders, cobwebs, and dust. The mattress was uncomfortable at best. The toilet room is so small your knees hit the door. Breakfast isn’t included or adequate communication about check in and check out. The grounds were beautiful though and worth the trek from Amsterdam.

I would advise not to stay here overnight, however: 1) The WiFi is super slow - I just used my phone internet because it was faster. 2) Make sure to read the fine print - you have to pay to rent the linens and towels - this is the first time in my life a hotel made me pay for these. 3) The walls and lights were littered with spider webs and dust. Also, the walls had blood stains from the dead mosquitoes left by the previous guest, which were not cleaned. 4) The reception told us we could rent the BBQ grill for free. Great! Later, we found out they charged us the same amount it would have cost for the coal without ever mentioning it in the beginning.

J	Juan Cruz on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Suitable for family and friends. The villas are comfortable and come equipped with a small kitchen. The city is a walking distance which makes the location amazing. This is a perfect plan for the coronavirus times.
S	Serban Vadineanu on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very well preserved medieval castle. During the time of my review I was only able to marvel in its beauty from outside. However, it is definitely worth the 5-6 minutes biking from Valkenburg to Oud-Valkenburg.
R	RC Smith on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Having returned to the Castle for our 3rd Anniversary, my fiancee and I were somewhat disappointed. Our room was much smaller this time but yet the price was higher. The toilet was so small that my knees and feet were outside the door when seated. As for cleanliness and maintenance, the bathroom had mold and mildew on the ceiling. As for the room service, there were minimal coffee supplies given and we were limited to one cup per person. On the plus side, the staff was for the most part, helpful and friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The grounds and surrounding areas are beautiful and worthy of a visit.
D	Dean Carstens on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Schaloen Castle is set in a beautiful part of the Limburg countryside with amazing willing routes, accommodation and a restaurant. It's a great spot to relax after a day of sightseeing and walking.
