★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can't speak much to the hotel stay itself right now, but I can speak to how they view their customers as I currently feel like they're holding me hostage. I booked an apparently nonrefundable room as part of a package (though the flight was refunded), and realized 15 minutes later that the event we were going for was not happening because of COVID. The Albus has refused to give an exception to allow a refund, which they can do. Mind you I had booked the room 15 minutes earlier.
So now they are forcing me to continue with the trip or eat $800, essentially holding me hostage. I can say that I did want to go to Amsterdam again, but will never book this hotel if this is how they treat people.
Why would I want to continue to give business to these people? I may update this after I travel there, but honestly, the bad taste this has left in my mouth will definitely skew my whole perception of the hotel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hotel in the center of Amsterdam. It's close to numerous restaurants, cafe's and coffeeshops. Great for first time visitors. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Also, the rooms were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Coffee machine was in the room. I think windows in the room were soundproofed because we couldn't hear anything from the outside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed at the Albus for our 10th anniversary on 10/01/21. The room was very beautiful and clean. Location was perfect since everything was I. Walking distance. Front desk was friendly and answered all our questions. We would stay here again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a family room (I think it is considered as a suite). Really big, well decorated with all the facilities - and even free unlimited beer tap in the room! Hotel staff was exceptionally nice. Breakfast was ok, not something special. The location is as good as it gets - maximum 10 minutes walk to anywhere in the city center, just 1 minute walk from the flower market and the amazing Rambrandt's plein, and still the room was very silent, no noise from the street at all (and only 2nd floor). Really, nothing bad to say about this hotel, apart perhaps for the breakfast.
