★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Brand new, just opened. Almost perfect. Nice rooms. Former jail. Bathroom is alright, warm water is so-so. Warm but cold when someone else uses warm water. Hot when you flush the toilet. Good restaurant and excellent breakfast.

Con: Shower does not keep a consistent temperature, very inconsistent service (time wise), mini television.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic hotel! Did you ever wished to stay in a prison? Than this is the right place! Former prison of Alkmaar, it was transformed into hotel. There are still the original cell doors. The center court is still as it was before, real corridors like in prison.
The staff is so nice, so friendly. Everybody makes everything that your stay will be unforgettable. Top cuisine restaurant, fresh food for affordable price. Nice to sit in the former prison courtyard to have a nice beer or glass of wine. The breakfast buffet is large and has everything you need. Even the coffee is good! Fast free Internet in the whole hotel. Absolutely recommendable. You will love to stay here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The shower was bad. The water kept going from warm to super hot then to super cold then to warm again. We stayed there for 3 nights and it did that every day. The lady at the bar was rude and refused to serve us alcohol claiming it was after 8 although at that time it was a couple of minutes before 8. We told her that and she gave us a super rude and bland reply. The concept is great but the overall experience wasn't worth it. The hotel is relatively new and there is still a lot to learn. The one star I gave was only because of the reception lady, she was one of a kind and welcomed us with kindness.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed at The Fallon Hotel in Alkmaar as curiosity because it has been remodeled, as it was a former prison (until 2012!). It was amazing, the hotel is beautiful, still keeping things from the prison and of course the layout is still there. The staff is friendly and helpful whenever you need them.
Food at the restaurant is extremely good. Had the surprise dinner by the chef and the threw it out of the park. Amazing and tasty dishes, perfect presentation and the staff is very well prepared to explain everything you will eat.
Breakfast was also very good, nice variety on different salty and sweet options and of course juice, coffee or tea as you prefer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a great experience to stay in an old prison! The jails are turned into beautiful rooms and very clean. The service is amazing. We had a dinner I’m the hotel and the food was sublime. And as finishing touch you receive a free tour through the prison and learn about the history. It’s a real nice walk to Almaar downtown, which is an amazing city to visit. I recommend this place to everyone
