Beautiful hotel. Used to be apartments, and turned into hotel. NOT good for those that have difficulty with stairs. Rooms are a bit small, but VERY comfortable. Desk is manned 24 hours a day, pastries brought in every morning, and just the friendliest staff you could every want. They made our stay so enjoyable. You will not regret staying here!

With a view to a lovely canal and nice design, this place is totally worth it. And I most say, that they have most comfortable beds I have ever sleep in. If you have a light sleep, ask them for a room upstairs so you don’t get the noises of the street. Staff is really good and friendly.

First and foremost this hotel is in a great area within walking distance of all the tourist hot spots. It's also right on a very scenic canal and in an old and elegant building full of charm. We stayed in a 2nd floor back room that was a little pokey and be warned the stairs are at about a 50 degree angle and are like climbing a cliff. And there is no lift. My partner had a sore knee and didn't like it all but full marks to the staff who gave us a ground floor room at the front with the bonus of air conditioning which was essential in the summer heat. The room was comfortable and clean but the bathrooms are on the small side and lack shelf space. This is an old converted merchant house so the rooms have been divided up and not always successfully. The only downside on our stay was there were ants in the room and we got bit a few times. No idea where they came from. Also the breakfast is a strange affair. It is a help yourself system in the reception but only tiny croissants, muffins, and chocolate bars are available. Croissants gone by 09.00 but muffins and choc bars available all day plus great fresh coffee. Staff very helpful and all in all a great place to stay.

This hotel is in a great location in central Amsterdam so it is ideal for exploring the city. The staff here were very welcoming when I arrived and had me checked in quickly. Overall the decor of this hotel is lovely, but there are a few things for me that let it down; My room was on the top floor and had a steep staircase in the room. The banister was very loose and would have broken if any weight was put on it. In the bathroom there was a spa-bath with shower overhead. The room is very nice and the bath was sanitary. However, it was clearly in need of a good deep clean, and the shower curtain rail has seen better days and needed replacing. The door handle came off in my hand, which made leaving the room somewhat of a challenge! A bottle of beer and water was provided after I had checked in, which is a nice touch, however they do not chill these items so they are provided to you very warm. There is a coffee maker and a small fridge in the room. The coffee was good quality and the fridge is very quiet. Pastries are complimentary and appear to be provided throughout at the day at reception. These are the store-bought kind so don't expect much from them, but still, another nice touch. The double beds are very spacious, (they are 2 large single beds pushed together with a mattress topper on top. I found the bed very comfortable but it was on the very soft side, so be mindful of this if you need a firmer bed. Also be wary of sleeping in the middle as the bed will swallow you whole! This hotel is essentially a large converted row home which does make it very homely, however this does mean there is no restaurant. This isn't a problem as you are close to many bars, cafes and restaurants, but is also disappointing when it suggests 'breakfast is included' during booking. In summary, this is a very nice hotel and I would be willing to stay here again if I had to, however I would expect a lot more from it for €300 per night. The whole experience could be easily improved if simple maintenance was kept on top of and booking instructions were clearer. But hey, this is central Amsterdam where the demand for hotel accommodation is high, so why bother, right?

I came here to stay for a few nights, and it was awesome! It was slightly difficult to find, but once I found it, it was great, next to the beautiful canals. I checked in and the person helping me was really friendly and told me about the complimentary breakfast and snacks throughout the day/night. She then showed me to my room, which was a double bed with a garden room. The room was spacious, chic, and clean, and the bed was comfortable as was the shower. The shower had a rain shower which was awesome, and the bathroom looked really new. I really enjoyed my stay, and I would stay there again!

I'm really surprised about the low ratings of this place. We had an amazing time. The staff was very attentive and even let us do a very late check-out, after midnight. There were always snacks like Snickers and muffins available free for all guests. The rooms were just amazing! We had the top floor and it was very spacious, cosy. Two floors for a total of 3 big rooms for couples. Would recommend very much!

An amazing hotel! Absolutely loved our stay, the staff are so kind and friendly! Can’t begin to describe how helpful they were. The rooms are gorgeous and extremely comfy with beautiful views of the canals. Loved the snacks in the morning and in the evening, I really thought it was a lovely touch. The location is perfect, practically everything is in walking distance! Without question, I would 100% recommend this place to everyone that ever travels to Amsterdam! I can definitely say without a doubt we will be returning, loved our stay. Thank you!!!

I'm incredibly unhappy with the way we were treated by this hotel when we had to cancel our trip. We had not selected the option to pay extra for cancellation because the risk of Omicron was not apparent at the time of our booking. Although we accept some responsibility for this, we approached the hotel to see if there was any leeway in this incredibly unfortunate situation. We explained to the hotel the reasons why we could no longer make the booking, including the unforeseen circumstances of the highly transmittable new variant, both over the phone and via the Expedia chat. We politely asked whether it might be possible to rearrange the booking, accepting any additional costs that this may incur. We still really wanted to have this trip we’d saved money for. They eventually said they would be able to move our booking as an exception saying: 'We will make an exception for you once. You can choose a new date for your booking. The new booking must take place before the end of 2022. Please note that additional costs may apply. As soon as you come up with a new date, we will inform you with the extra costs.’ HOWEVER, they then followed up with a second message two hours later saying 'I would like to return to my previous comment. We need the new date request by today 23:30. If not, the offer to change the date will expire.' Both of which I missed that day because I’d been working long hours and hadn’t had the chance to check my personal emails! I only saw the message the next day when it was apparently too late. No one bothered to call or alert me in a more professional and urgent manner for such a crucial offer. The whole thing was completely unprofessional and disorganised. I explained that I had devastatingly missed the messages due to working a long shift that day and they totally disregarded this. So just because I had not had the chance to read the message and replied just A DAY LATER, they decided they didn’t want to offer it to us anymore. I feel we were given false hope of rearranging and it was quickly taken away which ended up feeling even worse than if they hadn’t offered it at all. To make matters worse they were incredibly rude throughout the whole process, I’ve never been spoken down to in that manner before. Especially by people in the ‘customer service’ industry. The whole thing just added insult to injury and we ultimately lost a lot of money.
