Historisch pand
Bloemgracht 47 werd gebouwd in 1628. In deze periode werd ook de Jordaan gebouwd; een nieuwe wijk voor arbeiders, immigranten en ambachtlieden. Bloemgracht 47 is één van de weinige overgebleven panden uit die tijd en het oudste gebouw op de gracht.
In de bijna 400 jarige historie heeft Bloemgracht 47 onder meer dienst gedaan als wolververij, suikerfabriek, pakkistenmakelaardij en schroevenfabriek.
Vanaf 2012 is restaurant L´invité gevestigd in dit historische pand.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were in Amsterdam for a few days before a cruise and asked the concierge at the Pulitzer hotel for a good restaurant featuring local ingredients and cuisine. He suggested L'Invite as a great restaurant featuring Dutch cuisine with a modern flair. When we arrived we were met by, as we found out later, the Chef Owner. We told him we were food and wine people and told him to serve us whatever he wanted, both food and wines. The restaurant became busy with a large group but that had no effect on the quality of food and service. We enjoyed a nice leisurely dinner with wines and produce from local winemakers and friends of the chef. We will definitely go back when we are in Amsterdam!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely venue, great service. Smallish portions if you’re hungry, but take your time and savour them — wonderful flavors and taste. Worth going for sure. Only place I’ve eaten game meat that hasn’t actually tasted super-strong and gamey, just enough for taste but not overwhelming.

Unfortunately I found the food to be quite bland except for that which wasn’t cooked and served fresh, like oysters. There was one waiter and a young girl in her early teens that were the staff so there was quite a wait between meals.
We went to The Jane the week before which is arguably one of then best restaurants in the world and this restaurant charged us more for champagne than they did which I can’t see how that is justifiable.
My boyfriend also found a remnant of a bullet in his duck.
I’m don’t like to do a poor review but the amount of money we paid was exorbitant for the experience we had.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The interior is very beautiful, stylishly decorated. Location is convenient as well, right by a picturesque canal.
The service was great, the waiter was super nice, he answered all of our questions and introduced every dish and every wine. The food was delicious, especially the local oysters were amazing. The problem is he was the only server and the food took too long to arrive. The whole dinner took us 3.5 hours. All of us came in very hungry so that was not the most pleasant experience.
If you like good service and are after a good conversation and not in a hurry - this place is for you.
