Wij heten u van harte welkom in Restaurant Amstelle! Hier kunt u terecht voor een heerlijke lunch, uitgebreid diner en heerlijk avond tafelen met de lekkerste wijnen.
De naam van Restaurant Amstelle is geïnspireerd op het moerassige gebied waarop Amsterdam is gebouwd, namelijk ‘Aemstelle’. Zoals de naam daarom doet vermoeden, kunt u hier de hele dag genieten van internationale gerechten met een Amsterdamse knipoog.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Van der Valk klassieker is supposed to be a signature dish of the restaurant.
On the internet they boast to have vegetables high on the pedestal.
Nowadays people try to eat healthy, less starch and more vegetables.
On March 5th 2020 I ordered the Tournedos Amstelle and was very dissapointed to find a load of
Mashed potato under 6 tiny pieces of vegetable. The dish already came with french fries.
The classic applesauce was not served with the dish and the creamy mushroom sauce was replaced by a thick salty brown gravy.
Why serve something else than what ‘s on the menu, two starch products, barely any vegetables, mayonaisse but no applesauce.
I regret leaving a tip.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant is part of Van Der Valk Amstel Hotel. They have limited options for veggies but then I ordered an avocado salad and boy it was brilliant. I stayed in this hotel and they also served breakfast which was quite great and super wide spread. The breads were fresh from the oven and that was just a big highlight for me. The place overall is very clean and the staff was very kind and polite. Service was quick and even got customized eggs which is always a good thing when it comes to breakfast. Will highly recommend this place for breakfast and other meals (if you prefer meats)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Second visit (both were for business trips staying at the hotel). I never make any reviews, but this deserved the exception. Bad service still. Took ages to bring a menu and then the wine menu afterwards (just hand them out when you seat people - table next to me waited even longer). Nobody asked me how the food was. The bread served was obviously not home made, and on top of that wasn’t served warm. Plates were really hot but the food wasn’t. Fries were only medium warm and mashed potatoes almost cold. It was clear that most of the food was not freshly cooked. The fries were not crispy and did not have the Golden look of proper freshly fried fries, they had probably just been reheated or kept warm on a hot plate or something like that. And what about salt for the fries? The hollandaise sauce couldn’t be called sauce. It could almost stand on its own and when touched it was clearly separated and sort of deflated. When I told them it wasn’t great they just replaced it with more of the same instead of making a new sauce from scratch. Salmon was okay but I wish the waitress had asked how I would have liked it cooked. The positive thing here was the rosé, which was nice. And the decor. I like the hotel for my business trips, but will avoid visiting the restaurant again unless necessary.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great decoration in the room but service and Fish & Chips for lunch worst I ever experienced! Luckily my business partners choose differently. Since only 4 tables was taken it suprised us the waiter forgot 3 drinks and to whom to serve them. Not really recommended for business lunch.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have eaten here twice since the beginning of the year and both experiences have been outstanding! The waitress even remembered me and the wine I drank the first time, 4 weeks later! The food is excellent and the décor is really nice, plus there is parking right in front of the door which is free after 7PM - I had to pay just 10cents for getting there around 6:30pm. I will definitely be going here again - it's a great option for work-related dinners as well as an evening with friends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Restaurant Amstelle seriously deserves a higher rating than this. My husband and I thought that the food was of great quality. The steak was absolutely delicious, very good quality meat and so well cooked. I also thoroughly enjoyed my lobster bisque and my husband enjoyed his tuna tataki which was generously portioned. The chefs do take pride in their cooking, even if its a restaurant in a hotel that is quite out of town. We would also like to commend a bespectacled waitress (didn't catch her name) for being quite attentive with a good sense of humour.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed two nights at the Van der Valk Amsterdam hotel and also dined twice at the Amstelle restaurant.
Both times we had a very good meal. We really enjoyed the schnitzel. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.
The restaurant is very nicely decorated and super cosy. We will definitely come back!
