It is very close to the museum quarter and right next to Vondelpark but it is off of the main street so the area is quiet and quaint. Check-in was great and overall the staff was very nice. The room was small and a little old but for me that was alright. The room had several signs of wear like a crack/dent in the ceiling, cracks in paint, and an old carpet stain. It had very nice big windows overlooking the patio which was also nice to use. But the reason I only gave two stars was the bathtub. I was looking forward to taking a bath at the end of our day but when I went to close the drain and draw the bath I noticed that the drain and bathtub were very gross. The bathtub had a lot of old stains and the top parts of the drain were covered in hair and soap scum. It looked like no one had bothered to clean it in a few stays which really grossed me out. Cleanliness is a basic requirement for any hotel, no matter the price. I did not ask for another room because we were exhausted and were only staying for a night but, least to say, I did not take a bath and we will not be staying here again. This hotel would be an incredible budget stay if they just took the time to care for the facilities better.
B	Brian on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ During these uncertain times, many companies are showing at least some degree of flexibility when circumstances are changed that are completely out of the traveler’s control. Owl Hotel is unfortunately not one of those companies. We booked our January 2022 trip from the US to Amsterdam in Fall 2021, when everything was essentially wide open for travelers. Obviously the winter COVID surge resulted in a full lockdown imposed by the Dutch government as well as a mandatory 10 day quarantine for everyone arriving from the US, making our 5 day trip impossible. Every other aspect of the trip was refunded to us without any hassle (flights, museum reservations, etc.), but the heartless people at Owl Hotel refused to even consider this and instead kept our money. While the pandemic can bring out the best in some businesses, it certainly also brings out the worst in others, and that is Owl Hotel.
