About Studio Patina | fine jewellery for the modern wearer
Sandra Savelli knew at the age of 15 that she knew that she wanted to be a goldsmith. This is when she took up an evening course and discovered that when it comes to jewellery making, her patience is limitless.
She received her BA in Jewellery from the Estonian Academy of Arts and assisted a hereditary goldsmith while she was studying. There she mastered the traditional jewellery techniques such as stone setting, granulation, filigree, wax carving and many more. After moving to Amsterdam, she worked at Atelier Ted Noten as a goldsmith, where she learned to work with new contemporary materials and techniques like acrylics and 3D printing, further expanding the boundaries of her craft skills. Having experienced how much she has learned from those mentors in the past years, she has found the importance of passing the crafts and manual skills on to others. She has been teaching jewellery lessons at her well-equipped atelier since 2011. Sandra has recently completed professional doctorate in Restoration and Conservation of Metals at the University of Amsterdam. Her focus is to deepen her material knowledge and to pay respect to the science of the metals.
